Would you like to join MW Translations' team of translators?

If:

You are fluent in your specific target and source languages
Either: Your mother tongue is the target language
Or: You live and work principally in the country of the target lanuage
You have an E-Mail address which is checked daily
You are equipped with MS Word 6.0 (or suitable modern WP package capable of reading Word 6 files)
You could accommodate translation of 5,000 words per day (normally 3,000 max)

Then:

We will be delighted to consider you for our team. Please mail us your Resume, taking care to include the following information:

Language pair(s) and mother tongue
Country of residence
Rate per thousand words for non-technical translations
Specialist fields (esp. telecoms, computing) and your rate per thousand words for specialist translation
Minimum fee (NB note that MWT has a minimum of 250 words)
Hourly rate
Proof Reading Rate (per thousand words)
'Urgent' work/weekend working supplements

Translator Selection Policy

We will always deal again with a translator who has worked successfully with us previously
We will use target language mother tongue translators in preference to source language mother tongue translators
We will use translators who live and work in the target language country rather than the source language country
We will use translators who have experience of translating for the industry in which a particular client operates.
Translator fee rates will be taken into consideration

If we receive a translation request for a language or a specialisation which is not available through our existing regular resources, we will E-Mail 3 or 4 translators on our database to check availability.

Payment terms

Payment is per thousand source words unless otherwise agreed.
Minimums and supplements must be agreed before work is commenced.
Payment will be made by Eurocheque in GB pounds, unless the translator lives and works in the UK, in which case payment will be by UKcheque.
Payment will be made approx one month after the return date of the work.

Translator's Rates

Rates generally depend on availability of translators of the particular language requirement and our experience of the translator's skills, performance and reliability. Please ensure that you are comfortable with the rates that you ask for (i.e. do not underprice yourself to get the work). For example, we generally pay European language translators within a range of £50-£65 per thousand source words.
